@LindaTuckerHC found your podcast with Nutrition Matters so inspiring. I've just finished listening, and will be relistening in the coming days because it was so packed full of gems of wisdom!

Martin Lewis [@MartinSLewis] on @BBCr4today just now: "I am slightly worried that we are seeing potentially a deliberate narrative shift that effectively says the entire cost of living crisis is due to Ukraine and we all need to make sacrifices - that is not correct"

English tea. Italian coffee. Belgian chocolate. American iPhones. None of these statements are true. All of these products are produced overwhelmingly in the global South, with Southern resources, Southern land and Southern labour.

Love this Reddit question. How can we make good decisions and stability values that are celebrated in our society, rather than wealth, accumulation and excess? #anticonsumption #nobuy

A lot happened at COP26, and its hard to sort out what the meaningful outcomes between all the twitter hot takes. Thankfully @CarbonBrief is here with a detailed (albeit not "brief") summary: carbonbrief.org/cop26-key-outc…

@NiNanjira @newhumanitarian Would love to talk about this! I work for @FFEveryChild and we are shifting power to local CSOs. Past partnership working, towards frontline leaders who are now leading our Board and breaking the North-South model

Have any thoughts about what the future of aid will look like? Get in touch @newhumanitarian and keep a close watch as we continue to find answers to that question through the #RethinkingHumanitarianism series. I'd love to read more folks from out here on this matter!

@AnslowGwen It's a great quote, it really got me thinking! Thanks for sharing it. Totally agree, compromise is necessary but we can move the needle little by little.

In order to fuel constant growth, capitalism goes for the cheapest, densest, easiest energy possible, rather than the energy that is safest for our survival. We cannot have a sane conversation about energy and climate policy until we throw off the constraints of growthism.

If we all started at the bottom of the triangle, we’d cripple global corporates & billionaires, fossil fuel companies...how much stuff do we need to own, how much of what we need could we share, & repair? How much is made deliberately not to be repaired, how is this even allowed?

I’m done with playing ball and being nice and reading about mass death and poverty and how the world’s richest man is about to become a trillionaire and scrolling down only to be given top tips for baking the best fucking banana bread during quarantine.

You’re probably familiar with the phrase, “it’s OK not to be OK.” It’s so popular, it’s in mental health campaigns, hashtags, and even pop songs. I live with depression, and this phrase helps on the bad days. But here's a caveat. <thread...> #ItsOkNotToBeOk #mentalhealth
