Nevertheless, Austin Hedges has been great this year but he is most impactful off the field in the locker room. This has propelled the Guardians to their hot start along with them being 6-0 when Austin Hedges starts games.

Although his offense is usually his worst trait, he is currently slashing .350/.391/.450 with a 139 wRC+. Hedges has significantly cut down on his chase and whiff and he is squaring the ball up at nearly a 10% higher clip than last year. His metrics suggest he can keep this up.

Austin Hedges has had one of the most positive impacts on the Guardians this year.

The Guardians might end up with the first and second place finishers in Rookie of the Year voting come November.
