HR: We lost the new hire today. CEO: The one we poached from our competitor with double salary? HR: Yes. She resigned after discovering the company uses cameras to track how many times employees blink per minute. CEO: I do not see the issue. These systems help us verify attendance, reduce time theft, manage remote teams, and spot performance problems earlier. HR: That may be the intention, but that is not how she experienced it. CEO: We are trying to ensure people are actually working. HR: But “active” is not the same thing as “productive.” CEO: Explain. HR: A person can be doing deep work while typing very little, reading, thinking, designing, planning, or simply taking a necessary pause. CEO: Still, we need visibility. HR: Visibility into outputs is one thing. Tracking attention itself is another. CEO: What do you mean? HR: Once employers stop asking, “Did the work get done well?” and start asking, “Were your eyes on the screen every minute?” it becomes invasive. CEO: So the blink tracking was the problem? HR: Yes. Blink counts, webcam snapshots, and idle-time scores do not feel like management. They feel like surveillance. CEO: Even with double salary, she still left. HR: Because higher pay can attract talent, but it cannot make people stay where trust has been replaced by monitoring.

Spotted through her paintings by coach Kuldeep Vedwan, the same man who shaped world champion Sheetal Devi. Defeated her idol Sheetal Devi at the World Para Archery Series Final in Bangkok, April, 2026 Whenever I am feeling low or sorry for myself I will look at these images of Payal & Sheetal again & remind myself what the words: Courage, Resilience & Positive thinking, really mean. These champions are not just my #MondayMotivation. They will be a source of motivation Every. Single. Day
