Asked Stein if he’ll make any endorsements in contested primaries, specifically incumbent Reps. Carla Cunningham, Shelly Willingham, Rodney Pierce and Amanda Cook. He replies, “It’s premature. Let’s see how filing shakes out. We will have more announcements to come.” #ncpol

“Gov. Stein gets it when he says serving changes everyone’s life — the service member and the family,” says Kirk deViere, chairman of the Cumberland Board of County Commissioners and a U.S. Army veteran. “And it’s fitting he made this announcement here in Cumberland County, right next to Fort Bragg, the center of the military universe.”
English

We appreciate @NC_Governor making this announcement for military families right here in @CCNCGov

Newcomers to Cumberland County Board of Commissioners take control of the board and pick newly elected Kirk deViere to be chairman, over veteran Commissioner Marshall Faircloth.

Where is the accountability?? When I was in the senate I served on this oversight committee and there were major issues back then that never got fixed. Some in my party and caucus gave me a flack for asking the hard questions back then. $221M deficit ?? This is a leadership failure that hurts the people of N.C.

“Somebody needs to be held accountable. We need to make decisions for a storm that’s four or five times worse.” #ncga oversight hearing was tense yesterday, and lawmakers weren't keen on throwing more $$ @ReBuildNC_gov for Helene @insideclimate #ncpol insideclimatenews.org/news/19112024/…

TFW you're looking at photos of the @KamalaHarris rally and see someone rather familiar up on stage.

#DidYouKnow that Putt-Putt originated in Fayetteville, NC in 1954? And I bet this will shock you: it used to cost only 25¢ per round! I’m thinking we need to make this an #Olympics sport, what do you think?

Early campaign ad spending in nc senate races reported by @_lucillesherman $5.6M by @MyNCSenate this early is unheard of. Always a big spend in the New Hanover seat but interesting to see the spend in SD18 - must see a potential pickup seat without @Bode4Senate running for that seat and now a toss up district.

@kdeviere @JamesPerryNC Both of you are first class individuals and the State of North Carolina is better from your service in the NC Senate.

Proud to have served with @JamesPerryNC in the NC Senate. Even prouder to call him my friend. The people lost a common sense champion in the senate today. We may not have always agreed on policy but “good people can disagree”. I knew from his first day in the senate that we would form a trust and friendship that goes outside the walls of the chamber and any partisan lines.

“Always show up for your friends”. Yesterday was my first time back on the NC Senate floor since leaving office in Dec of 2022. Back to support my friend and former colleague Senator @JamesPerryNC who made some farewell comments at the close of session.
