One of my favorite basketball memories. One time, circa 2009 or 2010, I was lucky enough to sit courtside with some friends at a Lakers game. To my right sat a tall, very nice man, who introduced himself as "Bill". He mentioned that his son was playing that night for the Lakers. Even though I wasn't much of a basketball fan, I immediately realized he was talking about his son, Luke...and I realized it was Bill Walton. We've lost a giant of the sport, and even if that one meeting was a chance encounter and something Bill almost certainly forgot, I never did. RIP, Bill.
