i think the discourse really started with those who won and then looked for sponsors for their flights on a certain app. i understand that they worked hard to win, and i also get how strong the desire is to be there, but at the same time, i don’t think it’s right to ask strangers on social media to sponsor your flights, especially now, considering that airfares are tripling due to the current political situation.
at the end of the day, kpop is a luxury, and it’s not right to pass that cost onto other people just so we can be present at the event. if you can’t attend because airfare is too expensive, then maybe you should consider stepping back. sometimes being responsible means accepting your limits 🙂
so, if you think you can’t go, don’t force it. you’ll only end up putting unnecessary pressure on yourself. being a fan should be something that brings joy, not something that comes with financial stress or expectations placed on others.
i just think the conversation would be better if we kept that perspective in mind instead of taking things too far off track 👍 i’ve seen many tweets straying from the topic, which is creating more issues.
