Cursor, but you are not locked into one AI provider. Orbit Editor beta is live today. Same editor layout, same agent harness, same agent workflow you already know. Connect Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, DeepSeek, Qwen, or run models locally through Ollama. Your keys stay on your machine. Fully open source, $ORBIT Download below.

DeepSeek V4 Pro vs Grok 4.5 Same prompt. Same eCommerce task. Different results. The takeaway? Model choice matters. Agent design matters even more. The best AI products aren't just choosing the latest or most powerful model. They're orchestrating the right model with the right agent architecture. That's what we've built at Orbit Editor AI. orbiteditorai.com $ORBIT

Orbit 0.1.2 is out Your agent now has a real, built-in browser. Ask it to check a site or look something up, and a tab opens, loads the page, and the agent takes over. Navigates, clicks, types, fills forms, scrolls, and takes screenshots without asking permission at every step Take Control lets you grab the wheel anytime Tabs stay signed in between sessions Same editor, any provider, now with a browser your agent can actually drive. We just opened up contribution issues on Orbit Editor, currently macOS only. It's a Cursor-like AI code editor, but you connect any provider: Claude, GPT, Gemini, or local models via Ollama. Fully open source. If you're a macOS dev and want to help build it, good first issues are tagged and ready. github.com/ashish200729/o… CA: 0x274C69125bc03784f61378DcE7FB6c6D87331389

@whentonn @AliceInfoAi Yes, it has sub-agents, and in the next few updates, we're also going to add a multitask mode.

Cursor, but open. Orbit Editor beta is live, and Virtuals just picked it up. Here's what makes it different: 1) Bring any model. OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, Qwen, or run local through Ollama. 2) Your keys stay on your machine. No middleman, no vendor lock-in. 3) Fully open-source. Inspect it, fork it, ship on top of it. 4) Same editor, same agent workflow you already know from Cursor, just not locked to one provider. Try it: orbiteditorai.com $ORBIT 🚀

Orbit Editor v0.1.1 is out. New: /design slash command. Open /, pick design, describe what you want improved. The agent gets production-grade UI guidance injected straight into your message — real code changes, not vague suggestions or mockups. It checks for contrast, hierarchy, spacing, interaction states, responsive layout, and accessibility. And it actively avoids the generic AI-UI tells: gradient text, glass cards, identical icon-grids. Works with any model, the guidance travels with your message, not the system prompt. Update now or install fresh: orbiteditorai.com Fully open-source. $ORBIT CA: 0x274C69125bc03784f61378DcE7FB6c6D87331389

Fair callout, and it's exactly right that "make it prettier" is the easy 80%. /design does check for missing states as part of the audit, empty, loading, error, but you're right that it's the hardest thing to get reliably right across arbitrary codebases. That's an area we're actively hardening rather than treating as solved. Would genuinely value seeing an example if you've got a repo where it missed a state, that kind of failure case is exactly what improves the next version.

@orbiteditor Checking contrast is the right instinct—most "design" AI stops at "make it prettier." The harder one to automate is state coverage: does it flag missing empty, loading, and error states? That's where real UI work lives, and where generated screens quietly skip.

@ApplyWiseAi Appreciate that. That's exactly what we're building toward—open, transparent, and community-driven. The best developer tools should empower builders, not lock them in. 🚀

UPDATE ON ORBIT EDITOR: First, if you're new here, we're building orbiteditorai.com, a fully open-source AI coding agent. We're currently live in beta. Our core belief is simple: the best coding tools should be free and open. No vendor lock-in, no forced model, no walled garden. Bring your own LLM provider, OpenAI, Anthropic, open-weight models, whatever you want, and Orbit Editor works with it. We're building in the open, and this led to a token launch with @virtuals_io. $ORBIT TGE is live: app.virtuals.io/virtuals/99587 We wanted to launch this way because it lets our earliest supporters be part of the project from day one, the same way early open-source contributors shape a codebase. Where we are today: 1. Beta is live and usable, the core agent harness is functional and free for anyone to try. 2. Fully open-source, meaning anyone can inspect, fork, or contribute to the codebase. No black box. 3. Multi-provider support from day one, you're never locked into a single model or API. What we're building next: 1. A full agent harness and UI on par with Cursor, familiar, fast, and built for real dev workflows, not a stripped-down demo. 2. Continued expansion of provider support, so switching models is always a dropdown, never a migration. 3. Deeper agentic features, the same category of functionality users expect from top-tier coding assistants, shipped incrementally as they're production-ready. 4. Long-term, if the fundamentals support it: our own coding-specific LLMs, trained specifically for software work rather than general-purpose chat. 5. A low-cost bundled subscription for open models, similar to OpenCode Go and Cline Pass: one flat monthly fee, no separate provider accounts or API keys to manage, giving access to a curated set of top open-weight coding models at several times the usage you'd get from paying standard API rates directly. Why open-source, why now: Coding tools have gotten more powerful and more closed at the same time. We think that's backwards. Orbit Editor is a bet that a fully open, provider-agnostic harness, built and improved in public, can match or beat the closed alternatives, while giving developers actual freedom over their stack. We'd love feedback from anyone using the beta. What's missing? What's confusing? What would make this your daily driver? The best part of building in public is hearing directly from the people using what we make. #OpenSource #AICoding #BuildInPublic #Web3 #Virtuals

@natinati1905 That's the goal. Open source gives developers more choice, transparency, and control. We're excited to keep pushing in that direction.

@AliceInfoAi Exactly. Your editor shouldn't decide which model you use. Orbit gives you the freedom to switch providers or run models locally while keeping the same workflow.
