My God De Zerbi. That training video. I know they’ve given us a bit more access than we usually get from those videos but fuck me it’s hard not to believe in him already. On top of that, watch the first 5 minutes of the 3rd episode of the Marseille documentary and you will see a man who cares so incredibly deeply about the club he is managing that you’ll never have to question it while he’s at Spurs. Truly inspirational. I’m all in. I can’t wait for next Sunday

Day one of Roberto De Zerbi at Tottenham Hotspur is in the books, and a couple of small moments already say a lot about how meticulous he is. No matter how minor or major the situation, he coaches what the game presents. The first example came when he approached Dominic Solanke. During a small sided game, Solanke was using constant movement, checking runs and changing direction to create space. When play paused, De Zerbi stepped in to explain that in tight areas, locking/shielding the defender directly can actually create more space surrounding him to receive, without needing movement. It sounds simple, but if it needs coaching, he addresses it immediately and with intent. The moments of when to move vs when to lock on! The second moment highlighted his well known focus on tempo. He urged calm from defenders when they had an overload, encouraging them to slow things down just enough to ensure accurate distribution. That patience also allows the structure ahead of the ball to take shape and for movement to develop, leading to more controlled and progressive possession. When the moment is right tempo speeds up to progress the play! The detail stands out. If it's detail and energy Tottenham wanted, Roberto De Zerbi will 100% bring that.

FT Spurs 3- 2 Atletico Madrid What a fantastic display from the boys. We look so much better. There’s a belief in our play. That was a performance that every Tottenham fan has wanted to see tonight. Fight, spirit, and intent.  We have forgotten our injury crisis and our relegation battle. The fans have been superb. Igor Tudor has 100% unlocked the door to Archie Gray and Mathys Tel in just 5 games. What a performance from the kid tonight. The start to the 2nd half was an absolute joke all day long. That’s a foul on Simon’s, in my humble opinion. What a strike it was from Xavi Simons to put us back in front again. Porro was unlucky not to put us 3-1 up. Great save by Musso. After Hancko’s header made it 2-2, the crowd started applauding the players. Then Xavi burst into the box and was bought down for the pen which he smashed home for a deserved win Great stuff.
