the use of ai is just proof of this. ppl are desperate for engagement to prove they're valuable to the space and using ai as a way to garner it on something they aren't even making money off of. it's genuinely tragic

writing. not to mention the way readers are engaging with fics like published books on their good reads and using apps to give them reading stats. we've completely lost the plot on something that's supposed to just be for fun. everything is monetization and hustling now and (2/3)
