Our Director, reassures investors that this will be a transparent but long process and that this meeting has been extremely vital for feedback in addition to communication between stakeholders.

Prof Geoffrey M Muluvi is the Vice Chancellor at the South Eastern Kenya University.

Prof. Daniel Mugendi is the acting Vice Chancellor at the University of Embu.

Prof Nathan Ogechi is the Professor of African Linguistics & Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student Affairs) at Moi University.

Joel Barnor is a Manger at Genesis Analytics for the Infrastructure and Public Private Partnership Advisory Practice. He is Project Manager for the Kenyan Hostels Transaction Advisory.

Eng. Stanley K. Kamau is the Director of the Public Private Partnerships Unit and also serves in several boards of public agencies as the alternate to the Principal Secretary, National Treasury.

The key speakers during today's event are Eng. Stanley Kamau, Joel Barnon, Prof. Nathan Ogechi, Prof. Daniel Mugendi and Prof Geoffrey M Muluvi.

The South Eastern University of Kenya Student Hostel Project involves construction of 5400 bed capacity hostels at the university's main campus in Kitui.

The Embu University Student Hostel Project entails construction of 4000 bed capacity at the institutions main campus. Similar to the Moi University project, the private partner will lead design, build, finance and operations for the project.

The Moi University Student Hostel project involves construction of 15,000 bed capacity hostels. Here the private sector partner will design, build, finance and operate the hostels for 20 years after which the hostels will revert to the university.

The featured universities are The South Eastern Kenya University, University of Embu, and Moi University.

The aim of the conference is to walk potential investors through the procurement process and for the featured universities to interact with the aforementioned investors.

Today we are at the Intercontinental Hotel in Nairobi for the University Hostel Investor Pre-bid meeting and investor conference.

The PPP Committee comprises of 6 members from the Government & 4 private sector members, they oversee the running of the Unit.

Since 1990, we have had 23 Private Public Partnerships that have reached financial closure. We look to increase this number in the future.
