Just left Anime Boston. I saw 9 Homestuck cosplayers, 5 RWBY cosplayers and 12 Tetos. Those were the only ones I was keeping track of.

Like I think I'd prefer him as a survivor with his facial deformity rather than a hunter where his disability is used to look scary. IDV is a mixed bag for disability representation. Especially what they did with Helena versus her real life counterpart.

A lot of people think Merrick from Violetta's letter will be playable and I'm not so sure, but aside from that if he ever does get a canon design I hope they handle it with respect... He's most likely based on Joseph Merrick and I don't want them using his disability for horror

I gotta admit, after watching magical girl shows like Madoka Magica, Ojamajo Doremi, Sailor Moon, etc. I find it kinda hard to get myself back into watching seasons of PreCure now lol

@Texalism @Buckleys_Girl The problem with high/low functioning is that it puts us on a scale. At the hospital I was in they discouraged us from referring to each other as high/low functioning, but even with vastly different support needs, we were all kept in the same place with the same amount of support

There was a lot of controversy when Percy came out, but the most vivid memories I have of it were people (including myself) saying he "doesn't fit the aesthetic of idv." Which is obviously not true but looking back on it now we really took these designs for granted

@esot3r1ka honestly the latter might not be very good advice and can make things worse but that's how i deal with it personally

@esot3r1ka i have a really hard time identifying delusions but i think the best way i treat them is through distracting myself with as much brain stimulation as possible. this can either look like walking around my room in circles for 30 minutes or watching 4 things at the same time

non idv related but does anybody else struggle with delusions? how do you keep yourself in check when you don’t have a strong support system?
