Manchester United alone has over **40 million fans across Africa.** FORTY MILLION people who wake up at 3am to watch the games. Who paint their faces. Who name their children after the players. Who argue tactics like they're on the coaching staff. And most of them cannot afford the club's cheapest official jersey. A single Manchester United kit costs roughly **$90–$120 USD.** In Nigeria, that's close to two weeks' minimum wage. In Ethiopia, closer to a month's. Yet European football couldn't survive without jersey, but certain set of people on this app will be throwing words at us African broadcast deals bring in hundreds of millions annually. African viewers inflate the global ratings that justify billion-dollar sponsorship contracts. African fans buy knockoff jerseys because that's the only way they can afford to belong — and those same clubs quietly benefit from the cultural reach while the continent sees almost none of the financial return. This is not passion. This is extraction dressed in football kits. The Premier League generated over **£6.9 billion in revenue** in 2022–23. African football development received a fraction of a fraction of that in reinvestment. You are the market. You are not the beneficiary. The question is not whether Africans love football.
