Quantum Device Lab
@qudev
@QuDev (the Quantum Device Lab of ETH Zurich), led by @AndreasAtETH, we explore #quantum circuits for #computing, #communication and #sensing technology.

Check out our new @qudev lab (@ETH_physics @ETHQuantumCntr) paper on entangling #quantum error corrected logical qubits in superconducting circuits entitled "Realizing Lattice Surgery on Two Distance-Three Repetition Codes with Superconducting Qubits" out on @arxiv today (arxiv.org/abs/2501.04612). The work was done in collaboration with @fz_juelich and @RWTH Aachen, and was executed at the @ETH_en Zurich - @psich_en Quantum Computing Hub. The work was supported by @IARPAnews, by @SBFI_CH, by @Innosuisse, by the @ETHFoundation1 and by @ETH #Zurich.

Every term we take a group photo with members of our @qudev lab (qudev.phys.ethz.ch) at @ETH_en #Zurich, including current undergraduate and graduate students, PhD students, researchers and staff. We have a great, dynamic and very international team originating from 23 different countries. Interested in joining our lab at @ETH_physics, which is part of the @ETHQuantumCntr and the @ETH-@psich_en #Quantum Computing Hub? For opportunities as a student, researcher or staff check out our website: qudev.phys.ethz.ch/open_positions. P.S.: Everyone seemed to enjoy the late summer ice cream!

What are you up to on Wednesday at the @APSphysics March Meeting in Minneapolis? #apsmarch Want to check out my talk in the all-invited Session Q24: #Quantum Computing Hardware, 3:00 PM–6:00 PM, Wednesday, March 6, 2024, Room: 101DE. (meetings.aps.org/Meeting/MAR24/…) You will get a glimpse into our lab and learn what we use this special experimental setup for.

A piece of #science history from 20 years ago today. This is an excerpt from my lab book showing the first signs of life of the first ever circuit #quantum electrodynamics experiment. The start of a fruitful field of research known as circuit QED with Dave Schuster Alexandre Blais, Steve Girvin and Rob Schoelkopf that has developed very nicely throughout the past 20 years with more to come. Can you tell what is shown in the graph? #CircuitQEDat20 @schusterqed @circuitqed @Yale_QI @Yale

I have another invited code for the place where the grass is greener and the sky is bluer for a #quantum person who wants to check it out. Let me know if you are interested to be active there.
