Tide Hoops History
Tide Hoops History@BamaHistory·
Two years ago today, @AlabamaMBB finally broke through the last barrier. On March 30, 2024, inside Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, the Crimson Tide delivered a program-defining moment—an 89-82 win over Clemson to punch Alabama’s first-ever trip to the Final Four. For a program rich in talent, history, and heartbreak, this was the night everything changed. For decades, Alabama teams had come close, only to see March dreams derailed by tough draws, injuries or one bad matchup at the wrong time. The Final Four often felt like college basketball’s unreachable summit. But on this night, the door finally swung open. “I couldn’t be more proud of a group of guys,” Alabama head coach @nate_oats said. “We challenged them… to pick up our defense, and our defense got significantly better.” Fueled by its “mudita” mindset and a relentless team-first approach, Alabama flipped the script on Clemson after an earlier loss in Coleman Coliseum. @imcsears led the way with 23 points and seven three-pointers, while Jarin Stevenson added 19 points with five threes. Nick Pringle imposed his will inside with 16 points, 11 rebounds and three assists. @GriffenRylan finished with 13 points and eight assists, while @AEforthree added 10 points and five assists to keep the offense balanced and humming. The turning point came when Pringle drew Clemson star PJ Hall’s fourth foul with 7:59 remaining. Moments later, Alabama unleashed a barrage—four straight three-pointers that broke the game open and sent the Crimson Tide to heights never before reached. “They’ve just been all about winning,” Oats said. “Nobody really cares who’s scoring… there’s been no selfishness in this run.” And with that, the gates finally opened. After years of knocking, Alabama didn’t just reach the Final Four—it earned it together.

@BabysitterBari We’re the worst athletic program in the SEC run by a bufffoon AD. Football sucks, basketball sucks, women’s basketball double sucks, softball sucks, baseball vastly overrated and sucks, Alabama owns us in every sport. We’re a joke. And Cohen is a buffoon.

Thank you for everything. We are so thankful and blessed to have had this opportunity for Houston to become a part of something so special and contribute in a meaningful way. Thank you - from the bottom of our hearts.

Alabama meant a great deal to Houston Mallette and Houston Mallette meant a great deal to Alabama. Houston will be missed on and off the court next season. His leadership and effort were second to none. Moments ago, @GarrettWalkr tweeted this out following Alabama’s loss to Michigan:
