Ima say the quiet part out loud: when was the last time Nike dropped a (new) basketball shoe design that people felt an immense desire to wear fashionably? I would listen to an argument for the Ja Morants, but outside of that? The LeBron 9 in 2011? The KD 6 in 2012?
NBA Base@TheNBABase

Nike is reportedly struggling to sell basketball shoes because NBA players "aren’t as popular as they used to be," per @WindhorstESPN Financial experts claim the lack of player popularity is now directly hitting Nike’s revenue and stock price. (Via @hoopstonite )

@WharfRat_DE And so many IDF soldiers simply blindly comply with these idiotic orders, while it’s up to them to make a difference. As captain Jean-Luc Picard said in Star Trek The Next Generation: “History is full of atrocities committed by men who were simply following orders.”

I served in the IDF for three years and three months through mandatory conscription, followed by two more years as a reservist. On January 18, 2009, after over five years in uniform, I ended my final day as an IDF soldier. Ending my service was a personal decision I made on the last day of Operation Cast Lead. The two main objectives of this war, widely considered the first Gaza war, were to liberate Israeli hostage Gilad Shalit, held captive in Gaza since 2005, and to destroy Hamas. After less than a month of fighting, the Israeli political and military leadership decided to abandon the war’s objectives and withdraw. It took me ten minutes from the moment I stepped out of my Hummer to hand over my gun to my superiors for the last time. We won on the battlefield, only to be defeated by our own weak leadership. I was called a traitor, weak, an enemy, one who abandons his friends and brothers, and every insult you can imagine. Today, over 17 years later, I still stand by my decision to stop burning my time, my body, and my soul to reach absolute nowhere. The same villages and towns where the IDF is currently fighting in Lebanon were already taken and cleared in 1982, 2006, and 2024. We’ve reached a point where the decisions of men and women on the ground carry more weight than those of their weak leaders. I see no signs that this time will be any different, but I hope time will prove me wrong. Ceasefires don’t end wars, they just make them last longer to claim their toll from another generation. This photo is from the summer of 2005, yours truly somewhere in the desolation between Israel, Syria, and Jordan. So much has changed since then, but when it comes to the wars in our region, absolutely nothing has changed. Yet I remain optimistic and hope that the men and women on the ground won’t be defeated again by their own leaders.

@JonesOnTheNBA I don’t care how many young players start hitting 35 footers…none of them will ever do it like Steph. You gotta love this shit in your soul to run all over like he does at this stage of his career

Since he first broke out during the 2008 Tourney, Steph has been must see TV. Nearly two decades of being a high entertaining/box office player. The thing I respect about guys like LeBron and Steph is that two decades in they still take pride in delivering that kinda experience.

I hope speculation and rumors about yet another extension of the ceasefire to reach a deal with Iran are off base. To me, President Trump’s position is clear. I fear the Iranians will play the same old game they always play, dragging things out by doing things like making menial concessions. I believe the bottom line for President Trump is: - No enrichment - American control of the approximately 900 pounds of highly enriched uranium - The opening of the Strait of Hormuz without interference from Iran - Iran must abandon its long-range ballistic missile program and any effort to develop a nuclear weapon - And Iran must cease support for all terrorists proxies in the region This would allow Iran to exist as a nation but not as the largest state sponsor of terrorism. If there is no deal, it is time to finish the job.

@pat4_c @_JasonLT I could see it. But I do think Houston matches up much better with Okc for whatever it’s worth. Throw in Ant vs Jokic which will be must watch and then the winner of that battles Wemby…god damn. As you said it worked out across the board

If San Antonio loses to Denver in Round 2, tonight has a chance to go down as one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen an NBA team do. Resting Wemby & losing to a team sitting all of their best players when a single home win massively increases your title odds? I’m in shock…

This video is both heartbreaking and life-inspiring. A film crew tries to film the destruction caused by US/Israeli bombing at an apartment complex in Iran. One of the tenants, an old man whose apartment has been almost completely shattered, insists on inviting the film crew in and offering them something to eat. "We have only come to film, we don't want anything," the crew says. But the old man insists on at least offering them oranges and apples. Ultimately, those who come out victorious from conflicts are those who retain their dignity. Who never let war make them lose their humanity and self-respect. Who, even in the worst of situations, insist on upholding sacred traditions and beliefs, including that of hospitality. That's what makes a civilization indestructible. Please remember this video and do your best to forget the videos of the lost souls dancing and cheering on the streets when their countrymen, women, and children were being killed by "democracy and freedom" bombs.

They know you better than you know yourself. Too many people are in some parasocial relationship with Tucker. His skill at mirroring your frustration gets mistaken for ideological or political alignment. Sorry dawg it’s not! These performers can speak to you in a way that hits home. U Many feel ‘seen’ but they know what they’re doing
COEXIST Inc@coexistinc

I can't believe how HARD Tucker is clapping and smiling for Trump after kidnapping Maduro at this White House meeting with oil executives about how they're going to pillage Venezuela
