Men really think “I was going to” counts as effort. No, you weren’t. That’s why you didn’t.

Funny how the only ones mad about effort are the ones who never put any in. If the shoe fits, wear it.

@SyzgEle "I was going to" is pathetic. But women who only see effort when it comes wrapped in their exact expectations are equally blind. You miss the man working 60-hour weeks because he didn't buy flowers. Effort has many faces. Learn to recognize them.

Men operate differently and sometimes get caught between competing priorities and responsibilities. Men are often juggling multiple demands like work pressure, financial stress, family obligations, and trying to handle everything that's expected of them. Sometimes "I was going to" means "I had every intention but life threw me ten other emergencies that had to be handled first." Men are conditioned to be fixers and providers, so when urgent shit comes up, they prioritize what seems most critical in the moment. They're not making excuses. They're dealing with the reality that they can't be everywhere and do everything simultaneously. The problem is men are terrible at communicating this context, so it just sounds like they're making bullshit excuses. Men need to get better at either following through on what they say or being honest about their capacity upfront.

@SyzgEle This is why as a man you need to learn how to just say a nice solid NO to women if you don't feel like doing something they ask, stop cuddling their feelings & trying to explain yourself to them, they won't believe you anyways🤭 so save yourself the stress & mental gymnastics🤷🏽‍♂️

@SyzgEle This is why saying no is very important — saying you were going to and not doing it is worse than saying no — you were trying to show you were considerate while you were not. Excuse is worse than saying no.

@SyzgEle The quickest way to shut down communication with a person is to discount or belittle their intentions. We all have things that we 'intended' to do (women included) yet were not able to complete. To assume that a man should do everything he intends is unreasonable and asinine.
