Saw this plastic six-pack ring on the beach this morning. Despite laws mandating biodegradable materials since 1990, many still remain intact, putting our birds at risk. It's a stark reminder that we must do better. #ProtectWildlife #PlasticPollution #BeachCleanup

@theaterlover1 @ejbarto1 @wildbirdfund @NYCParks It's not uncommon to see fishermen try to cast their baits and lures as close to branches as possible, believing this increases their chances of catching a fish. A shame, this is so risky. @NYSDEC

Fellow birder @ejbarto1 has taken clear photos of wound & show what appears to be a long shank offset worm hook embedded in the egret, not a branch. Please redouble rescue efforts & inform fishermen about dangers of leaving equipment behind! @wildbirdfund @NYCParks #birdcpp

The Common Yellowthroat thrives in marshes, relying on these habitats for food and shelter. Marshes aren't just beautiful, they're vital for countless species. Protecting these ecosystems ensures birds like this one continue to flourish. #Conservation #BirdWatching #ProtectMarshes

@patrick_barkham Hi Patrick, I just read your Guardian article on Sophie Hunter's salt marsh installation. It really resonated with me, especially since I work in conservation around Jamaica Bay—where the referenced study was based. Thank you for bringing attention to such an important issue!

Salt marshes don't exactly loom large in our cultural landscape so it's great to see this. What's your favourite example of salt marsh in art/books/film? Mehalah by Sabine Baring-Gould is mine, what a strange, atmospheric novel! theguardian.com/artanddesign/a…

@BrianLehrer @UM_English She said, "bigger, louder microphone." Maybe she meant megaphone?

@BirdBrklyn Yep, and here it is crossing the street back into the park after some local boys had to be reminded not to harass it.
