Charlie Kirk got assassinated at 31 years old and then became the biggest joke on the internet. His face is now constantly superimposed onto pictures & videos for people to laugh at for the rest of time. His widow has made a mockery of him and she herself has become a meme. Basically, everything he ever did in life has been rendered useless. There's something incredibly sinister & demoralizing about this, like watching a person's soul being sent to Hades in real time, only it's not the Ancient Greeks. It's us.

I refuse to believe that most Americans can not read at a 7th grade level If this is “true” then it means we are simply measuring literacy incorrectly; 163M Americans are actively employed Can your 6th grader read an employment contract? Read heavy machinery instructions?

This is an under noticed GOP policy win. They have effectively abolished the federal minimum wage via patience and inflation.

The minimum wage in Pennsylvania is $7.25 an hour. A regular Auntie Anne’s soft pretzel at the mall is $7.29. Imagine telling someone an hour of their time is worth less than a pretzel.

Obama in particular deserves more criticism. He ran on codifying Roe and had for a time 60 Senate seats.

@JJ_McCullough @SonnyBunch I guess these movies generate revenue because going to the movies, especially with kids, is more expensive than it used to be, and a live action remake of an animated favorite is novel enough to justify the spend, but sure to be good enough that it won’t feel like a waste.

@SonnyBunch What do you THINK is the appeal? I feel a lot of people like to dunk on these, or denounce them, but I rarely see critics put any effort into sincerely trying to understand why they are so popular.

I genuinely do not understand the appeal of these shot-for-shot style remakes of the animated classics, but they are insanely popular so we'll never stop being subjected to them.
