When I started The AI Grapple Podcast, I wanted to create a space for honest, human conversations about one of the most significant shifts of our time. For our 50th episode, I could not think of a more fitting guest to mark this milestone than the one and only @MariSmith

One of the coolest things about humans& is how many different paths and stories people have that brought us together. We're all excited to build AI to help people collaborate with each other, but many of us care about different aspects of that. We wanted to share a few of these:
humans&@humansand

Today we introduce humans&, a human-centric frontier AI lab. We believe AI can be reimagined, centering around people and their relationships with each other. At its best, AI should serve as a deeper connective tissue that strengthens organizations and communities

@JJ_StuJordan Powerful takeaways! The "10% lift" trap is real - most people are just layering AI onto legacy workflows & wondering why the results are incremental. โ€‹The major unlock for me was realizing we need to stop fitting AI into current systems & start redesigning the systems for AI.

AI adoption isnโ€™t being slowed by technology. Itโ€™s being slowed by people, trust, & leadership decisions. In the latest episode of the AI Grapple Podcast, Sarah Daly (AI360 Review) talks about whatโ€™s really happening inside organisations as AI moves from experimentation to scale.

๐Ÿ’ก AI works best when it augments human thinking, not when we outsource responsibility to it ๐Ÿ’ก Used well, AI can free us up for more creative, meaningful and human work.

AI adoption isnโ€™t a tech problem. Itโ€™s a human one. In my latest episode of The AI Grapple, I sat down with futurist and author @despindola23 to talk about whatโ€™s really happening as AI moves into everyday business life.๐ŸŽง Listen to the full episode here bit.ly/Ep42DavidEspinโ€ฆ

A few themes really stood out for me: ๐Ÿ’ก AI is moving faster than any tech shift weโ€™ve seen before, and most businesses donโ€™t know where to start ๐Ÿ’ก Leaders need to make a conscious choice: are you a maker, shaper or taker of AI?

Our marketing team is just me and ~40 AI agents. I finally got around to putting them into an "org chart", and it's actually really cool to see! Plus, laying them out this way by sub-function (social media, blog, email, community, partners, etc) has given me a bunch of ideas of other agents I want to build. If you're interested in the full version (and the templates/screenshots for each agent), let me know and I'll send it over to you.

๐Ÿš€ "AI will be just as transformative as the internet - or even more." In this episode of the AI Grapple Podcast I interviewed Simon Yencken, Founder and CEO of Fanplayr. Heโ€™s using first-party data + real-time AI to help brands personalise without creeping people out - and without breaking privacy laws. ๐ŸŽง Listen now here: bit.ly/TAIGSimonYenckโ€ฆ or on your favourite podcast platform! #AI #Ecommerce #ArtificialIntelligence #PredictiveAnalytics #Podcast #Fanplayr #TheAIGrapple

We had a powerful and practical conversation about how women can stop playing by the old rules and use AI to redefine success - on their own terms. ๐ŸŽง Listen now on your favourite podcast platform or listen here ๐Ÿ‘‰ bit.ly/TAIGDrWall #AI #FutureOfWork #WomenInAI #WIAI

The majority of people are still outsourcing their task or job to AI and then dissolusioned when the results are mediocre. This approach will make humans 'lazy'. Those who bring their wisdom and expertise and then use AI to do more and be more and actually engage in the process...... they will become smarter and more valuable.

Does AI make marketers lazy or does it make them better? I've been wrestling with this question for months. And I think I finally have an answer. During my keynote at Social Media Marketing World this year, I shared an image of sticky note with these powerful words: "How can AI help me with this?" I discovered the concept from Geoff Woods and it's brilliant. Some marketers approached me after, questioning if using AI is "cheating." I smiled and asked, "Is using a calculator cheating?" Then I wondered if using grammar checkers is cheating? Of course not. Just because a machine helps us reach our destination faster doesn't mean we're lazy. It means we're smart. It means we're focusing our human creativity where it matters most. I've noticed something fascinating in our industry lately. The marketers embracing AI are producing MORE original work, not less. They're experimenting more. They're testing more ideas. They're breaking through creative blocks that used to hold them back for days. Here's the truth: AI doesn't replace your marketing expertiseโ€”it amplifies it. It's like having a brainstorming partner who never gets tired, never judges your crazy ideas, and helps you refine your thinking. Perhaps the real lazy marketers are those refusing to learn these new AI tools. They're the ones clinging to outdated ideals while their competitors race ahead. They're the ones who will wonder what happened when they're left behind. I remember when social media was new. Some embraced it, others called it a fad. We all know how that turned out. This feels exactly the same. So what's your take? Are you leveraging AI to become better at what you do? Or are you watching from the sidelines? I'd love to hear from you.
