Congratulations to Ephrem (ODA Special Boarding School) and Mizan (Kallamino Special High School), both from AddisCoder'23, on being admitted to UC Berkeley. Mizan additionally won the Robinson scholarship, providing a 100% full ride.

Congratulations to Misgina Gebretsadik Kahsay (AddisCoder'16), who after completing his Bachelor's at Mekelle Institute of Technology has now just been accepted with a full @MastercardFdn scholarship to pursue a Master's at Arizona State. (2nd photo from AddisCoder 9 years ago!)

Also, after studying Python and algorithms in AddisCoder, he later created his own program ("BaroCoder-101") in Gambella to share the knowledge he learned with other fellow high schoolers.

Congrats to Jack, AddisCoder'23, on a full scholarship to @NYUAbuDhabi! Jack studied in Gambella while residing with his parents and 5 siblings in Kule Refugee Camp. He earned a scholarship to finish high school in Addis, and now will be the first in his family to go to college.

At the AddisCoder 2025 graduation we distributed 27 laptops to students thanks to a generous donation by X-School! x-camp.academy

AddisCoder graduation is now complete. 121 students completed our 4-week program on algorithms, representing 13 kilils across the country. Thanks to all our partners and donors, and we look forward to Summer 2026 — applications will open next week.

AddisCoder students inspired today by Samrawit Fikru's visit, Founder/CEO of Hybrid Designs which is behind RIDE, the leading rideshare app in Ethiopia with 5 million+ users and 70,000 + active drivers. She's also involved in Sewasew (music streaming) and Tirita FM Radio. 1/

(that margin of victory record was not overtaken until recently, 16 years later in IOI 2024)

Thank you Prof. Huy Nguyen of Northeastern for a great second week — we are now soon wrapping up week 3 with Prof. Huacheng Yu of Princeton. Trivia: when Prof. Yu was young, he won 1st place in the International Olympiad for Informatics with the largest margin of victory ever.
