Only 54.4% of the #Madagascar population has access to basic water services. Most people in rural regions fetch water from natural springs and rice paddies, which are usually polluted with dangerous bacteria and viruses. This is why water provision is one of our top priorities.

The Adsum-supported Agroforestry and Education for Life projects focus on introducing sustainable farming methods to school curriculum as well as community knowledge in rural #Madagascar, while also improving the people of Madagascar's livelihoods by providing alternative income.

Tendresoa, married with seven children, makes "Tihy" (mats) on the market to support her family, while her husband works on a farm. Tendresoa would like to know how to write especially to be able to add words and phrases to her mats, so she attends the Adult Literacy programme.

Tsoroe, a mother of five from Antsakoamaro, walks about 1km to Agnalalava for the Adult Literacy class to improve her skills with accounting and writing. She has also joined the training programme two years ago and from this learning was able to acquire these laying hens.

Our Adult Literacy programme in #Madagascar seeks to impart important life skills. Zenatoloe is a mother of six children and sells mats to support her family. She is now learning to better articulate herself and learn the basic numeracy skills needed to support her business.
