Honestly, at its core, the metaverse is a Web3 product. Companies like Meta tried to enter the space seriously by allocating huge funds, but they didn’t get the results they wanted. The timing was off by the time they jumped in, the metaverse sector had already reached saturation. Then the crypto bear market hit, altcoins crashed, and most metaverse tokens especially $MANA and $SAND fell below their launch prices. That triggered a lot of FUD, and the Web3 side, which is the foundation of the metaverse, started losing value. Capital flowed into other narratives like RWA and AI instead. My expectation is that once the altcoin season kicks in again, the metaverse will come back to life—this time not just temporarily, but in a way that sticks.
