The man’s wife came to our office today unexpectedly and kept asking about a female colleague who is close to her husband. We quickly noticed that her husband looked very uneasy, so we knew something was not right. She had brought him lunch, and then jokingly told the female colleague to stop bringing him lunch. She also said she should stop hanging out with him and calling him at night too.

I was struck by this Scripture today, a rebuke of God to his people over their striving and self-reliance: “For thus says the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: “In returning and rest you shall be saved; In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.” But you would not, And you said, “No, for we will flee on horses”— Therefore you shall flee! And, “We will ride on swift horses”— Therefore those who pursue you shall be swift!” Isaiah 30:15-16 But the LORD does not abandon His people. He is compassionate, even when the people refuse His way: “Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you; And therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; Blessed are all those who wait for Him.” Isaiah 30:18

This 15 year old young man, George Robinson, seems to have been born in the wrong era. Listen to him sing. What bothers me is that people his age won’t find this as cool as we do. He’s amazing. It’s almost hard to believe he is 15. Frank Sinatra watching from above- “Not bad kid.” How does that voice come from a 15 year old?

Today started out brutally for me. There was a dark cloud over my head from the moment I woke up. Could barely stay out of bed for more than half hour. I sobbed my eyes out more than once. But I pulled myself together to go to family dinner with my in laws and SIL/BIL and my husband’s Opa and I am so glad I forced myself out of bed. It was beautiful and sunny out. We sat outside and the girls blew bubbles and picked flowers. We had a nice bbq dinner. I’m so thankful for the family I married into. They are such a blessing to me. Feeling lighter now. Thank you for your prayers, friends. We’re down to just 2 nursing sessions a day now. Will do this for half the week then go down to just bedtime. Hopefully once baby is fully weaned things will level out with how I’m feeling.
