@AlexAVRMUSIC Yes. That was in a non traditional live room, shoe box shape and not where you’d go for a typical studio drum sound - sometimes that’s the way to go! Also remembered that the room mics were through a tube pre with drive added..

@Mark_Rankin_ Thanks for replying! I tried something similar in a maple room but couldn't nail it (the room sounded too big)! I got close with a 24'' kick and brass snare, both tuned LOW with contact mics to add the knock back in. Steve Osborne suggested using a sansamp but that didn't work!

@AlexAVRMUSIC That was pretty simple really, a pair of room mics facing away from the kit and a kick mic and a snare mic..it was all in the room mics!
