The thing I appreciate about Pauline Hanson is that she said openly what many average acquiescent Australians were thinking, but were reluctant to say in public, for fear of being called racist or bigoted.
Our collective tolerance for fringe views and behaviour was quite high. So the fringe kept, and keeps, pushing.
And now the bungee cord has reached it's length.
I imagine trying to explain to my grandfather, long since departed, that it's now expected that people use pronouns to confirm their gender. The discussion we would have had.
