Our officers have been out this week as part of Operation Cece, an initiative between National Trading Standards and @HMRCgovuk to disrupt the supply of illegal tobacco. In total, over 64,000 cigarettes, 7.65kg of tobacco and nearly 2000 vapes have been seized.

As part of our intelligence led underage sales operations, and with underage volunteers, our officers have been undertaking test purchases of alcohol and vapes from premises in Hertfordshire.

⚖️ Inspectors have been out testing weighbridges across Hertfordshire. In total, eleven weighbridges were tested over two days. 3 bridges were found to be beyond the tolerances permitted and were issued notices requiring them to be brought into tolerance. ✔️

Our Trading Standards service has confiscated almost £900,000 from a counterfeit AirPod seller. The majority of the money will go to the Government, the county council will receive a proportion, while the six victims will be compensated for their losses. orlo.uk/CGCW8

Our officers have been busy checking pubs and restaurants for short measure of spirits to make sure that consumers are getting what they pay for. In total, 22 test purchases were made. Of these, 20 were found to be short measure - over 90%!
