Happy Tuesday and welcome back to the Digital ID Legislation game of whack-a-mole! 🔨🐁 Last week Rep Gottheimer (D-NJ) announced his introduction of the "Parents Decide Act." The bill text is not yet available, but we have enough information to give us a good idea of what's in it - more universal age verification - this time at the OS level. Let's dig into what we know so far...🧵

Over 8 million people showed up yesterday—and this is the response??? Not leadership. Not reflection. Just ego and immaturity. There is absolutely nothing presidential about this. It’s honestly embarrassing!!!

My column for the @ocregister @SoCalOpinion is out. In it I argue that the internet as we know it will disappear if the congressional attacks on Section 230 succeed. S 230 is essential to a free internet, and our online experience would be radically worse without it. ocregister.com/2026/03/28/agu…

this is insanely bad, btw. yes facebook and google should be broken up and regulated but this entire trial is going to pave the way for age verification and gutting Section 230, which is the reason social media even exists. it will lead to censorship of non-harmful content

Let me make this very clear doing this is because platform are scared That's why they're going to out of the way to start removing post and account that does not break the community guidelines, because they are scared to get sued and go bankrupt that's it.
Applemax plus@Applemaxplus

Remember sunset section 230 meaning platform has to start deleting post that does not conflicted harm or any such to avoid lawsuit billions of dollars worth of lawsuit so what will run is AI no account will exist on any platform, You fight it, it will not go through.

What it will cause this platform ar scared They do not want to go bankrupt so doing this prevent going bankrupt but still without users They cannot survive over time. Google in other hand will make billions by asking your ID to use their calendar app, All Google apps by the way

Reading @MarshaBlackburn new TRUMP AI Act, introduced today at request of @POTUS. It's a long (300 pp), comprehensive bill; an outline of the bill was released in December. One note: it has a full repeal of Section 230. Full stop.

@touhou19786917 @Andrew_Langer No, the meeting isn’t about repealing section 230 and even the guy in charge of the hearing tomorrow has made it abundantly clear here. I’m very vigilant about the situation here, but reading upon the hearing for tommorow, they don’t want to repeal or sunset section 230 here.

Galaxy Z TriFold is being discontinued Samsung might do one more restock before ending production of the foldable. This comes as the device has not been profitable I hope once costs start to go down it comes back or a new model is released

@Pirat_Nation How I understand is just a testing unit what I mean is to see if it really work continuing or discontinuing even though it is sold out it doesn't matter it's just a test that they was doing, and for them it's not worth it Continuing so they going to focus on other things.

Ready for another age verification bill? Alabama has passed HB-161, which was signed into law on February 17th. - Requires that App Stores verify the age of all users upon account creation. - Requires parental (adult) accounts to control child (minor) accounts. - Requires App developers utilize App Store age verification API’s to restrict content for minors. - Age verification, of adults, to be done via “commercially available methods”. Age of a minor account can be set by the linked adult account without ID checks or other “Commercially available methods”. - Specifically only applies to mobile device (smartphones or tablets). Would apply to “App Stores” on Linux or Windows, when running on a mobile device. - Fine of $7,500 per violation. - Takes effect on October 1st, 2027. legiscan.com/AL/bill/HB161/…
