National Heroes Day celebrations in Ottawa, organized by the Rwandan HC to Canada . A beautiful moment to honor our heroes, reconnect with our duty to Rwanda, and celebrate leadership across our community. Humura Association is proud to be part of this collective journey forward.

The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration, honouring and keeping alive the memory of our loved ones killed during the Genocide against the Tutsi, and preparing for the upcoming Kwibuka 32 memorial events in the National Capital and across Canada.

CIJA CEO Noah Shack Responds to Terrorist Attack at Sydney Chanukah Gathering: We are devastated by the horrifying scenes from Sydney, where families have been targeted in a terrorist massacre at a Chanukah celebration. We stand in solidarity with the Jewish community of Australia, so similar to our own here in Canada, and pray for the victims of this atrocity. CIJA is in continuous contact with the Prime Minister’s Office, Public Safety Canada, law enforcement, and provincial and municipal governments to ensure steps are being taken to keep our community safe. From the United Kingdom to the United States and now Australia, we have seen the deadly consequences of calls to ‘globalize the Intifada’ and the rise of violent antisemitic extremism. Canada is not immune. Canadians must wake up to this reality – we need urgent action from governments and law enforcement to keep all of us safe.

Today, we remember the 2004 Gatumba ( Burundi) massacre, where hundreds of Congolese Tutsi were killed because of who they were. Our support goes to the Banyamulenge community and all who seek justice and lasting peace . Turi kumwe muri ibi bihe bitoroshye 🙏! #GatumbaMassacre

Humura is composed of Rwandan genocide survivors. We oppose downplaying the 1994 genocide, which killed up to 1 million Tutsi. Such comments are harmful, invalidate survivors suffering, especially for someone seeking Canadian political leadership.
