Bu faciə Azərbaycan xalqına qarşı törədilmiş ağır cinayətlərin acı nümunələrindən biri kimi tarixdə qalır. Ağdaban qurbanlarının xatirəsini dərin hüzn və ehtiramla yad edirik. Allah bütün şəhidlərimizə rəhmət eləsin! ______________ 34 years have passed since the Aghdaban massacre—one of the numerous grave and brutal war crimes committed by Armenia against Azerbaijanis. In 1992, the village of Aghdaban in Kalbajar, consisting of 130 houses, was completely destroyed by Armenian armed groups, leaving the settlement utterly devastated. A total of 779 civilians were subjected to severe torture, and 67 people were brutally killed with exceptional cruelty. This tragedy remains in history as one of the painful examples of the grave crimes committed against the Azerbaijani people. We honor the memory of the victims of Aghdaban with deep sorrow and reverence. May Allah rest all our martyrs in peace.

On 4 April – International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action – #Azerbaijan reaffirms its strong commitment to addressing the severe humanitarian impact of landmines. In Azerbaijan, landmines and unexploded ordnance continue to pose a grave threat to human life, hinder reconstruction, and obstruct the safe return of displaced persons. Azerbaijan remains among the countries most heavily affected by landmine contamination. We call on the international community to strengthen support for humanitarian demining efforts and victim assistance. A mine-free future is essential for sustainable peace, development, and human security.

Another civilian has been killed as a result of a landmine explosion, while herding livestock. Landmines continue to pose a serious threat to civilian lives and impede the safe return of former IDPs as well as ongoing reconstruction efforts. Since the end of the 2020 war, 4️⃣1️⃣9️⃣ Azerbaijanis have became the landmine victims, among them 72 been killed and 347 severely injured. #Azerbaijan is committed to demining to ensure a safe and sustainable return of its citizens to their liberated lands, and expects mobilised efforts of international partners to extend support to that end.
