We were honored to take part in a discussion hosted by the @BlavatnikSchool of Government at @UniofOxford, titled “Four Years On: Reflections from the War on Terror and Prospects for the Taliban’s Afghanistan. The leader of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan @AhmadMassoud delivered remarks at this academic gathering. He discussed the dire situation in Afghanistan under the rule of the Taliban terrorist group, recent developments of the resistance, and the broader geopolitical trajectory in which Afghanistan now finds itself. He also outlined the grave challenges facing the people of Afghanistan, the threats caused by Taliban domination across social and political spheres, and the ongoing struggle of our people for freedom, justice, a legitimate state, and a democratic future based on the will of the people. Following his remarks, I continued the discussion and responded to questions from participants on the issues raised by the leader of the NRF, including Afghanistan’s political future, the role of the resistance, regional security dynamics, and the responsibility of the international community toward the people of Afghanistan. This special session was a meaningful exchange with researchers, professors, students, and members of the academic community of one of the world’s leading universities. We extend our sincere gratitude to Professor @JaninaDill for moderating this discussion, and to Ms. Claire Fuchs and the students involved for their efforts in organizing the program and creating a thoughtful space for dialogue on Afghanistan. This gathering is part of our continued efforts to engage with major intellectual and academic institutions around the world, raise awareness about the current situation in Afghanistan, and present the vision, struggle, and objectives of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan. Following similar programs at Harvard Kennedy School and Cambridge last year, our presence at Oxford marks another important step in bringing the voice of the people of Afghanistan to the world’s leading academic and policy circles.
