Opperman and Gatien are both students in Dr. Mousumi Majumder’s cancer research lab at Brandon University. Dr. Majumder is a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Genotoxicology and Associate Professor in the Department of Biology at BU. people.brandonu.ca/majumderm/

Opperman also won a award — bringing home thirs place in basic sciences. Prof. Tak Mak from Princess Margaret Cancer Center in Toronto was the plenary speaker at the Research Day, and presented Opperman with the prize.
