'Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Battle 22' released [in North America] on this day in 2003. Eight years tardy in making its way stateside (originally releasing in '95 in Japan), this late-localized fighting entry in the Dragon Ball franchise was criticized as being downright archaic.

'Lost Word of JeNnY' released on this day in 1986. A tie-in to a line of Japanese fashion dolls, which were originally marketed under the label of "Takara Barbie." The game for its part is a sub-par platformer, but is bolstered by some wild theming. Visit NASA and smash the KKK!

'The Mystery of the Druids' released on this day in 2001. A point-and-click title best known for its infamous box art, and for the detached manner of its psychopathic protagonist. Rife with bugs and "moon logic" puzzle solutions. A truly baffling adventure from beginning to end.

'The Simpsons Wrestling' released on this day in 2001. Released at the height of professional wrestling's popularity, as well as one of the last peaks in viewership for The Simpsons on television. Overly-simplistic / choppy gameplay barely resembles actual grappling, though.

'3D Tetris' released on this day in 1996. Thank God that T&E Soft realized that what Tetris truly needed was for all the fundamental rules to be completely changed, and to be presented in a constantly-rotating 3D perspective that makes it impossible to parse.
