@bimbudgeting Also I’ve noticed that in some of the successful marriages I know of, over the years each partner takes turns being the breadwinner. So using current income to me isn’t always a great qualifier.

I’ve rented in Honolulu, LA & San Fran, arguably the most expensive cities to live in the country (and world?). But to date Chicago rent prices takes the cake. Like I’ve seriously considered paying 3k for a STUDIO apartment in the downtown area.

This is new: I had to show my Chicago landlord proof that my income is 3x the rent.

My little brother told me he can’t wait to get a job two summers from now at Chick-fil-A so he can earn money to buy Jordans and invest in his ROTH IRA. He’s 12 🥹
