Thanks, Anthropic, for helping protect Zcash users. At Shielded Labs’s request, they ran a security audit of Zcash with Mythos. It did not find any more serious bugs in the Zcash protocol. Shielded Labs and others are continuing security hardening work. Stay tuned for updates.

If he doesn’t love Zcash he should Stefan Molyneux’s financial activities, early adoption wealth, and donation networks have been heavily exposed and tracked by researchers, journalists, and watchdog groups. Bitcoin's open architecture effectively unmasked his financial profile: Molyneux, an early crypto adopter who began soliciting Bitcoin donations around 2013, publicly posted static Bitcoin wallet addresses on his website and platforms to receive funds. Because every single transaction on the Bitcoin blockchain is permanently recorded and visible to anyone, investigative groups (such as the Southern Poverty Law Center's Hatewatch) were able to plug his public addresses into blockchain explorers. By analyzing the transaction histories, researchers mapped out his entire network of inflows and outflows. Blockchain analysis deanonymized the scale of his crypto holdings and tracking history: It was revealed that donors had gifted Molyneux over 1,250 Bitcoin over the years. Analysts tracked how he held through market volatility, transforming his donation profile into millions of dollars. The "Mega-Whale" Connection: In 2020, blockchain analysis tied a specific 10-Bitcoin donation Molyneux received directly back to an anonymous "mega-whale" wallet that had been dormant since 2010. This linked his financial pipeline to prominent early-crypto libertarian figures and organizations. While a Bitcoin address is just a string of alphanumeric characters, it is fundamentally pseudonymous, not anonymous. Advanced clustering algorithms easily group multiple wallets together if they interact or consolidate funds. The moment Molyneux or his associates attempted to move Bitcoin to a centralized cryptocurrency exchange to cash out into fiat currency (USD), those transactions hit Know Your Customer (KYC) walls, effectively linking the digital tokens to real-world identities and bank accounts. Molyneux's exposure is a textbook example of how Bitcoin’s public ledger functions. Because every transaction is a matter of permanent public record, anyone soliciting public donations on Bitcoin leaves a clear, traceable financial map that researchers can exploit to "dox" their net worth, donor base, and spending habits. Zcash fixes this

I need Molyneux's take on ZCASH He's usually pretty early to these types of things.

The Rule of Law is more important for the future of civilization than Artificial Superintelligence is, and it is more important for the future of civilization than the Trump administration is.

Precisely as I predicted, the recent cyber EO, which admin officials insisted was not a licensing regime, ends up in practice being a licensing regime. Forget “voluntary,” forget “permissionless.” AI is licensed now, but the requirements change constantly and are always a secret, even to the administration itself, which will discover the rules spontaneously in real time as it reacts to events. This means also that the rules are in practice stricter and more roughly enforced for organizations the administration does not like. Can you blame Anthropic for making itself so disliked? In a sense, sure. The problem is that this childish “he said, she said” is all we have to go on in our analysis of the situation. And because there is no transparency (it is all calls and texts between “White House officials” and “Anthropic executives”), in practice it comes down to who you trust more. This is why we create laws! To abstract away from personal power struggles and grudges, to submit to the steady application of rules so that complex human activity can unfold with predictability. The rule of law has been being eroded in the U.S. for my entire life, but it is especially acute in AI because of both the lack of much preexisting law to serve as bulwark, and because of this admin’s insistence that it is Not Regulating AI. This has become an excuse for vagueness and evasiveness in rule-drafting (see the cyber EO), and this in turn makes the lawlessness worse. The government wants to apply its force to frontier AI, that much is clear. It wants to make the industry submit. And in service of that goal, it has discovered that “not regulating AI” is in fact a great excuse for refusing to support laws that could constrain the admin’s exercise of power. In other words, “not regulating AI” is a *justification* for the tyrannical control of AI by the state. This should alarm you regardless of what party you are in. What you are seeing now will be used against you one day soon, if not by this admin then by its successors. This is the antithesis of the rule of law. The administration cannot and will not fix this problem alone. We need Congress to step in and impose rules on this mess.
