It’s the well-to-do white women who throw all women under the bus in order to preserve their racial privilege, all under the guise of “protecting our children”. It’s all the commentators and news outlets who frame this dynamic by saying “it’s about education.”

White backlash is a real thing, but it’s not the far right who does the backlashing. It’s the self-identified white “moderates”, “centrists”, “suburbanites”, “swing voters” (and their various other euphemisms) who rush to defend white supremacy when they feel threatened.

The Democratic Party and the Republican Party are both part of a white power structure that fought a years-long war over the issue of holding Black ppl in slavery and have never permitted full participation of Black voters in their elections TO THIS DAY.

People are still framing politics in America as Democrats v Republicans when the fundamental issue is structural whiteness and anti-Black racism.

I don’t think we appreciate how anti-intellectual American culture really is. It’s all premised on amusement and distraction. Americans don’t want or value knowledge. They value simple dichotomies and consumer options - this or that. And above all, they want to be entertained.

These mega-billionaires have 365 days a year in which they could go down as the greatest human who ever lived by simply giving away small percentages of their fortunes to solve global crises. But days and years keep passing. And they just amass more wealth. Congrats.

Today’s Mantra: What triggers me, teaches me. What stretches me, expands me. What challenges me, transforms me. I AM evolving.

white femmes get upset when I name the white Matriarchy, & tbh, the majority of ya’ll are just benefitting off of systems your sisters set up. It’s a CALL TO ACTION to do & be better, not to take offense. We need ya’ll to remember your humanity not get caught up in the spotlight.

I realize rich people donate large amounts & give back for their Birthdays & Holidays bc, if they did it on the regular it wouldn’t be nearly the story &/or photo opp, as daily giving becomes redundant & doesn’t ever get as many likes. So, the work continues from the inside out!
