Both Michael Carrick and Liam Rosenior arrived at Manchester United and Chelsea FC around the same time. We were ahead of them, but fast forward they’ve leapfrogged us and are now 10 points clear of Chelsea. And somehow, the excuse is that Rosenior hasn’t had a preseason did Carrick go for NYSC?

Honestly, if we don't qualify for the Champions League, I wouldn't bother if we make the Europa or Conference League. I'd even prefer to avoid Europe entirely if it's not the UCL.
It's a World Cup year; I'd rather have players resting midweek than traveling to Russia and Azerbaijan for Europa or Conference League matches.
For me, it's not worth the stress. If we miss the Champions League, the goal will be to get back to it immediately. Europa or Conference League will disrupt our league form and make Champions League qualification more difficult. At least in the UCL, the money you make is worth the stress on players and the club.

🚨 The reason behind Chelsea’s constant signing of younger, emerging players is their belief that they can’t compete with clubs like Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool for top established talent. BlueCo also think that focusing on youth creates a sense of ongoing transition, which could push bigger, senior players to consider leaving. At the same time, if they spend heavily on experienced players, they would need to sell other senior players to balance finances. (@thetimes)

🚨 John Terry on Enzo Fernández and Marc Cucurella in a recent interview about joining Real Madrid and Barcelona:
“Chelsea isn’t the club it used to be. Pedro, Cesc Fàbregas, Claude Makélélé, and Samuel Eto’o all left Barcelona and Real Madrid to play for Chelsea. Back then, players didn’t say no to Chelsea. But today, players want to leave Chelsea for La Liga. It feels like the club’s name is fading.”
