@delves1 Think not having full squad in place. Left back is a big one for me, Cochrane was overworked, Laird always has the risk of something so should have got another left back in the summer. I feel 4/5 decent players with a mix of champ exp/physicality/creativity then have a chance
Sunday hangover thoughts
Finishing top half good? Absolutely, I think everyone would of took that before a ball was kicked back in August
Could we have finished in the play offs? Again absolutely, looking at the points gaps…are Hull & Wrexham 7 points better than us…maybe not but they did what we couldn’t this season. They dragged themselves kicking and screaming to vital points during the season especially through the winter months
The draws at home killed us more than the many away losses imo
Ipswich at home dodgy pen right at the death
Not turning over ten men Derby & Sheff Utd
Not beating Sheff weds at home
Not seeing off the baggies when their season was on the ropes (before they went on their survival run)
I’m sitting here trying to think with my head and not my heart, and the season hasn’t been a roaring success (I.e not getting into the play offs) but plenty of positives the lads can build upon and go again next season, hopefully grow that killer mentality you need in this league to be in the conversation

@delves1 Think it all comes down to that away form. You typically can only afford to lose 13 games a season and get in play offs (excluding Cov last year) but we’ve lost 13 away. Think if we could of put some of the recent performances in we would have been in the mix
Don’t think we need loads but definitely need a starting CB & CM for me.
Out - Beadle, BOS, Robinson, Panzo, Doyle, Leonard, Wright, Ducksh, Kyogo
In - GK, RB, 2x LCB, CM, #10, experienced CF + Solis permanent & Osman o season long loan
@alexedicken Shocking again, even dominating the 1st half there was a lot of poor touches and looking like didn’t know each other. Think the season is done and need to start looking to what we do for next season
FT: Birmingham City 1-0 QPR
Roberts' early goal was the difference as Blues ended their three-game losing streak. It was nervier than it had to be but job done.
Play off hopes vanished tonight. Fair play to Albion they deserved that for their work rate and spirit. I don’t even want to slag anyone off really because it just didn’t click tonight. But one thing I am sure of is that we need a goalkeeper badly. Beadle can’t catch a cold #bcfc
@ToweringZigic Yeah missed his composure and touch when he went off. Felt Solis looked shaky and feel like that comes from Paik going off, worrying times if it’s long term
People question Paik, but we looked rudderless for a long time after he went off. He does such an important job of knitting everything together - I’m really not sure Doyle is able to replicate it. Need to see a lot more confidence from Doyle, he should be dictating IMO #BCFC
@NeilGollygosh@alexedicken Yes very poor tonight, couldn’t get hold of the ball, scared to get his head on it and always a couple of steps behind. Would like to see Stanno/Gray in the 10 behind Priske next game
FT: Birmingham City 0-0 West Brom
Boos around the ground after Blues are denied a late winner. A goal ruled out and two goal-line clearances as Albion escape with a point.
@chris_skudder Yeah Ducksch not on it. Been sloppy but definitely opportunity if we get those 2 on. Not the big John Solis we’ve seen so hopefully he can pick up
@sha1875 Yeah they’ve done great work, good to get their wages off the books and keeps the squad trim and competitive. Think we’ve got a chance at playoffs just need to gel quickly and if it doesn’t happen this season think the summer window wouldn’t need much so could hit ground running
Probably the most impressive thing about this window was our ability to shift out those without a future at the club. In the past we would have loaned a few out to League One strugglers and called it a day. #bcfc#kro
@alexedicken Very! Much needed physicality and pace, improved all areas of the pitch. Great to get players who not going to be involved out as well. Think there is genuine chance for a push for play offs now. Only missing a genuine 10 but maybe Fujimoto gets some sub apps while Dimmy out
Kai Wagner 🇩🇪
Jhon Solis 🇨🇴
Ibrahim Osman 🇬🇭
August Priske 🇩🇰
Carlos Vicente 🇪🇸
Jonathan Panzo 🏴
Six new faces (plus a permanent deal for Patrick Roberts). Everyone happy?
January was always going to be a big month. Injuries, AFCON, new players being bedded in…
Window has been nailed (LCB be nice too by Monday).
Good run of results to give us momentum into February.
Up the fucking blues

@ToweringZigic Don’t understand why we’d get rid of Sampsted/Cashin without someone through the door. Currently have 4 fit defenders and Iwata so all it takes is another injury/red card & we’re really up against it. Hope the new wingers have some defensive ability they could end up at full back
Ok, I am bitter, I can't let it go & its getting worse the better they do!!! The 2 reports I did for West Ham in 2018 and 2020 on two 18 year olds that had caught my eye. If only🥲
@Raouf_B9@LouisFinne52395 Can’t see them either going. Think Sampsted will stay with BOS at AFCON and Laird still out, would be surprised if anyone come in for Fujimoto but would be good if we could shift him
@LouisFinne52395 It will probably help that was have so many inevitable outgoings. I'd say at least 4 or 5 are leaving. Including a couple of loanees going back. I hope Blues gets in the type of players we need for a good push in the second half of the season.
