@yoxics I see a lot of "What did you expect" from Canadians but I will tell you I have known more than a couple people to whom it didn't occur to purchase travel insurance before going to the US and had to pay substancial bills. Mr. Arky learned a tough lesson but he is far from alone.

Arky started stressing after having to pay $1,000 in Toronto, Canada for a Doctor to check his broken hand despite having health insurance in America 😭 "they said its $1,000 to just look at it, if you need medicine we are going to charge you extra on top of that"

@EuchariaUrantaO @yoxics It's not really free. We pay huge taxes to fund the system. Here in Sask about 40% of our budget goes to healthcare & the system is still collapsing.

That’s tough, but that’s how it works here. In Canada, healthcare is free for residents…not visitors. If you’re coming from the U.S., you usually pay upfront and claim it back later. Still, $1,000 just to look at it sounds like private or emergency pricing😢. Travel insurance would’ve saved him a lot.

@LibertiesEdge @yoxics Not free. We pay huge amounts of tax to finance it and our waitlists are long. If you come to Canada & wind up in the ER unless you're having a heart attack or have a sucking chest wound u can expect an 8 - 18 hour wait to see a doctor & you'll probably get a bed in the hallway.

@AnonUser24776 @yoxics It's "free" for Canadians because it really isn't free; we pay huge taxes to keep the system running & freeloaders are not welcome. Sorry, if you're coming to Canada buy travel insurance & if you need to go to the ER bring a book, 'cause you're gonna be there a long, long time.

Starbucks was started in 1971 in downtown Seattle. Howard Schultz bought it in 1987 and took it public in 1992 with 140 stores, then grew it to 677 locations by 1995. Today it has 38,000 stores across more than 80 countries. Katie Wilson was just elected Seattle Mayor on November 13, 2025 when she called for a boycott of Starbucks. Starbucks officially announced their new headquarters with 2,000 employees in Nashville, Tennessee, on April 21, 2026. Another example of how democrat socialist policies actually work out.

@RodAVanier At least, unlike the Liberals (Chretien & Martin) he wasn't breaking the law by sleazily plundering the EI surplus. Typical Liberals! Government broke law on EI financing in 3 years: top court | CBC News

@RodAVanier The Liberals aren't going to be in gov't forever and this is going to backfire on them because the CPC will do the same thing. Even the bought & paid for CBC At Issue panel thought this was a really, really stupid idea.

🚨Poilievre's claim debunked: Harper ran deficits 6 of 9 years post-2008 crisis. The 2015 "balance" relied on selling GM shares at a $3.5B+ loss. Not the fiscal hero story. Crime rates fell roughly 25-30% during Harper era but trend started pre-2006 and experts attribute it to demographics/economy, not "tough on crime" bills that mostly raised incarceration. Taxes: Cut GST (7% down to 5%) & corporate rates sharply. Personal income taxes though? Modest credits, while they hiked OAS eligibility to 67. Claims about affordable lives? Mixed at best. Facts over conservative bullshit.
Scott Robertson@sarobertsonca

Pierre Poilievre: "I got into politics and helped the previous Conservative government balance budgets, drop crime by 25%, lower taxes so people could afford their lives. Those were great days."

What I really love about @MayorofSeattle is that she cares about the poor. She will make sure grocery stores stay open by simply “not allowing” them to close. I’m liking this ruling with an iron fist style. Kind of reminds me of the utopia that was once the USSR.

@joshryanjames We've had cats for 40 years & our cats are always on a leash in the yard (and licensed). I have no sympathy for people who let their cats roam around, digging up gardens, using kid's sandboxes as litter boxes etc.

@BenWoodfinden Have a look at the video .... notice anything like, for example, lots of empty seats. If you can't put paying customers in those seats you can't pay big bucks to athletes. I assume the league isn't a charity.

@MartyYork Yeah .... the Blue Jays had their chance in 2025; in all honesty they should have beat LA but the combination of Schneider's overmanaging & a ball stuck under the outfield fence because owners of the Skydome were too cheap to fill in the gap between the field & fence cost them.

Blow Jays lose yet again. Overrated team turns in another poor performance even though struggling Twins lose their ace Ryan with an elbow injury after only two batters in the first inning. Jays fail yet again to win a series.

@TrondFrantzen Of course, you forgot to mention that most of Alberta's oil goes to the US at a discounted rate. UAE gets world price for it's oil, which Alberta & Sask wud get if the braindead Liberals hadn't spent 10 years fighting to keep the stuff in the ground. Do the math.

Amazing. Alberta ships about 4.4 million barrels oil per day. The United Arab Emirates ships 3.1 million a day. They are fantastically wealthy. Alberta and the UCP can’t figure out how to build schools and provide healthcare, and runs a $9.4 billion deficit. Awesome management.
