We shall grieve, but not as unbelievers, because our faith is firmly rooted in Jesus Christ We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

REWIND: Buhari, Tinubu, el-Rufai led 2013 protest calling for Jega’s resignation On November 29, 2013, leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) marched to the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja to protest the outcome of the Anambra governorship election. William Obiano of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) was elected to succeed Peter Obi as governor with 180,178 votes. The APC leaders alleged rigging and called for the resignation of Attahiru Jega as INEC chairman. Leading the protest were Muhammadu Buhari, who later became president in 2015; Bisi Akande, then national chairman of the APC; Bola Tinubu, who later became president in 2023; Ogbonnaya Onu, also late, and Nasir el-Rufai, who later served as governor of Kaduna state. thecable.ng/rewind-buhari-…

URGENT & PRIVATE To: Professor Joash Amupitan (SAN), Office of the Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Abuja, Nigeria. Subject: NOTICE OF LEGAL IMPLICATIONS REGARDING DENIAL OF DIGITAL ASSETS AND THE RISKS OF PERVERTING THE COURSE OF JUSTICE. Sir, This correspondence serves as a formal observation and a strategic warning regarding your office’s recent public denials concerning the ownership of specific social media accounts and linked financial identifiers. While the use of defensive offenses such as threatening the arrest of citizens who point out digital footprints may offer a temporary shield in the media, it is creating a catastrophic legal liability for you as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and a public servant. 1. The Forensic Trap. Why Denial is Not a Defense. In the digital age, a denial of ownership is an invitation for forensic discovery. The public space has already identified links between the account in question and your personal email, phone number, and an OPay account. A. KYC Integrity Banking institutions like OPay operate under strict Know Your Customer (KYC) mandates. If a subpoena is issued, the disclosure of the BVN and NIN used to verify that account will provide irrefutable proof of ownership. B. Subpoena to Tech Giants. Should this matter reach a court of competent jurisdiction, a request for your IMEI log-in history from X (formerly Twitter) will reveal whether the account was accessed from your personal or official mobile devices. 2. Legal Consequences. Perjury and Misleading the State. By claiming the account is a cyber attack and prompting your office to threaten arrests, you are moving from a PR crisis into a criminal territory. A. Giving False Information. Under Nigerian law, using the machinery of the State (the Police) to investigate a crime you know to be a fabrication is a punishable offense. B. Perjury. If these denials are eventually sworn to in an affidavit or presented as testimony in any election tribunal or civil suit, the resulting conviction for perjury would mean the automatic loss of your license as a SAN and your permanent disqualification from public office. 3. International Litigation & The ECOWAS Court. While you may feel shielded by local judicial dynamics, international courts operate beyond the reach of executive interference. A. The ECOWAS Court. This body has consistently ruled against the use of state power to harass citizens over digital expressions. A suit filed here would not just target you, but would expose the Nigerian State to international embarrassment and hefty fines, for which you would be held personally and professionally responsible. B. International Reputational Blacklisting. As a law professor, you are aware that global legal bodies and monitoring groups track such controversies. This saga threatens to turn a storied academic career into a textbook example of digital-era integrity failure. 4. Recommendation for Damage Control. By continuing this path of aggressive denial, you are destroying the very integrity you seek to protect. The threat to arrest citizens is perceived globally as an admission of guilt through intimidation. We strongly advise a pivot toward transparency. The digital footprints are already in the public domain; no amount of local police interference can erase the data held on servers in San Francisco or the cloud-based ledgers of OPay. The path you are on leads to removal from office, criminal conviction, and a permanent stain on your legal legacy. Be so guided. Your best option is to resign now. Comrade, IG Wala. 12/04/26 Cc: The Nigerian Bar Association (Legal Practitioners’ Disciplinary Committee). The Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB). International Bar Association (Human Rights Institute).

Also, Peter Obi is not a “lesser evil”. I am again begging us all to have moral clarity. The man who said if anyone finds N5 that he embezzled should come forward and he’d leave the race: That man is not a “lesser evil” I am begging you guys. The man who has donated more money to education and health from his own purse more than the CapEx for health by the government is not a “lesser evil”. The man who left no debt but actual surplus in the treasury of the state he governed is not a “lesser evil”. The man who has successfully without any corruption led as: Chairman of Fidelity Bank Plc Director of Fidelity Bank Plc Chairman of Next International Nigeria Ltd Chairman of Guardian Express Mortgage Bank Ltd Chairman of Future View Securities Ltd Chairman of Paymaster Nigeria Ltd Chairman of Chams Nigeria Plc Director of Chams Nigeria Plc Director of Data Corp Ltd Director of Card Centre Plc Independent Non-Executive Director of Nigeria LNG Ltd: Is not a “lesser evil”. The man who went to Egypt to study how to make power constant for you is not a lesser evil. The man who said he wouldn’t tax you unless he has prospered you isn’t a lesser evil. The “lesser evil” bifurcation came when we wanted to choose between a corrupt incompetent Buhari and a corrupt incompetent Atiku. I don’t really like politics Twitter. But I’m saying this so we all have moral clarity. I am begging us all. Please, let’s dump these contrarian virtue signaling. I am begging. We are up against vicious people. These are the people who have witnessed around 5 generals and colonels die and nothing is moving them. I am begging you all, please.

Hahaha. @officialABAT played zero role to end Third Term. I was Special Adviser on Research and Strategy to Ken Nnamani. I wrote the iconic speech. It was all of Ken with Atiku and Buhari and such Senators like Yari Ghandi. In fact, El Rufai, Oby and Nuhu Ribadu played more role because they encouraged Ken to go against their boss. Tinubu was basically not in the mix
AJE@Riddwane

When President Olusegun Obasanjo, a Yoruba man, began scheming for a third term in office after the 2003 elections, the then Governor Bola Tinubu, also a Yoruba man, spearheaded the national resistance. Tinubu was in the vanguard of the efforts to defeat the obnoxious Third Term Bill, which was heavily funded by Obasanjo’s hatchet men in the National Assembly. Southwest progressive politicians were vocal in their opposition to the TTA Bill, with only a few within the PDP supporting Obasanjo’s unconstitutional move. Why didn’t Yoruba people unite in support of Obasanjo’s third-term plan? S’East kids, who obviously lack knowledge of the Nigeria’s political history, would come online and readily insult others. Let Akin Tollgate, for instance, openly criticised Peter Obi, whom he national supported, for lacking political strategy to win elections. No one needs a soothsayer to predict the outrage that would follow the post. You would see them shouting “bigotry” while deliberately overlooking the fact that the dumb Agulu Gbajue, despite his name, can never be equated to his tribe in political discussions.

You people are saying someone sat down in 2022 and thought "Let me open a twitter handle to 'impersonate' Prof Joash Amupitan. I'll also link his email address and phone number to the twitter handle." This is what you really want people to believe?

The not-so-beffudling fact is that Prof Amupitan, an expert in the LAW OF EVIDENCE, Company Law, & Corporate Governance, is now enmeshed in the evidential scenario of having altered the selfsame EVIDENCE that has now made his position as @inecnigeria Chair untenable. Shambles!

Minister of State for Finance, Taiwo Oyedele, has acknowledged the existence of errors in Nigeria’s new tax laws, stating that a finance bill is being proposed to address the identified gaps. Oyedele, who was also Chairman of the Presidential Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms Committee, made this known while speaking at the 2026 Annual Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Legal Practice, according to a post shared on the Committee’s official X handle on Friday. He noted that the reforms are guided by principles of transparency, fairness, and clear policy intent, rather than arbitrary enforcement. nairametrics.com/2026/04/11/tai…

First thing you should do as a newly appointed public figure is appoint a PR/ crisis comms person. If Amupitan had one, he would have been advised that deleting tweets, changing the name of the handle, then issuing a (false) disclaimer was the WORST thing he could have done.

“Desperate people do desperate things” Ordinarily their coalition should bring hope and excitement, but because they have no clear vision and alternative for Nigeria, nobody reckons with them. You would think with @PeterObi bringing in fake news CSO, fake TV anchors, fake movement of irrational and double standards Obidient they would create momentum, but anything fake hardly last. They have now resorted to blackmailing Nigeria and the Nigerian people in the eyes of the international community; anticipating hard and harsh treatment that would affect the lives and economy of ordinary Nigerians, so that Nigerians would be intimidated into voting them; that’s political banditry. But wait, can a people who invade a political party in a gestapo manner, take over the party structures by force and abduction the party, actually build opposition?

None of the @inecnigeria Chairmen you mentioned here (including Michael Ani, Ovie Whiskey, and Humphrey Nwosu) was ever accused of BRAZEN AND EMPIRICALLY PROVEN PARTISAN LEANINGS. None of them! That's what Amupitan' case is about. This tweet makes me want to puke!!

My succinct and irrecoverable priority is simple. As the chairman of INEC I will work ardently to restore your trust and protect your vote. I understand that many Nigerians have lost confidence in the electoral process, and I am committed to changing that experience through our strategies. ~ Prof. J.O. Amupitan (SAN)

Do you still think there’s room for growth in Nigerian banks? It might surprise you… growth isn’t just coming from Nigeria anymore. Pan-African operations are quietly becoming the real driver. Zenith’s Ghana business alone moved from N19 billion to over N100 billion in profit. So the question is — can they sustain this momentum? Watch the full conversation on YouTube: youtu.be/wSOJs1mN0dE
