@CommishFish Nick, please consider a law to ban blowers altogether unless the user actually collects and properly disposes of the leaves and debris, rather than blowing debris around so the next person (or the City) can use their blower. #BanLeafBlowers

Leaf blowers harm our public health thru air & noise pollution. That's why today I testified before Portland City Council in support of @CommishFish's proposed phase-out of gas-powered leaf blowers. I'm glad to partner w/the City as we at @multco consider how we can act as well.

@JackKerfoot2020 @AmandaFritzRN Thanks Jack. I thought you were referring to Parks. As for water, I share your concern with the new estimates. But they don’t take $ out of Parks. Parks gets General Fund support. The Water Bureau is ratepayer funded.

@CommishFish @AmandaFritzRN No cost over runs in Parks, but examples of cost overruns include 2017 water treatment plant at $500 million, now $850 million as they forgot to include water pipes, building renovation cost overruns, etc. These take funds away from parks, which are important for our community.

@JackKerfoot2020 @AmandaFritzRN Jack...which cost overruns at Parks are you referring to? For example, the Parks Bond is on time and on budget.

@AmandaFritzRN The failing parks in Portland isn’t a new issue. What is the issue is repeated project cost over runs and poor budgeting. We need a person on City Council that has expertise in project management & budgeting. jackkerfoot2020.com

@holymtnbike Mostly the arts. He donated $50k to save a free concert series in Washington Park, and we both supported the film industry in Oregon.
