Finally bought my book this evening New model Y $TSLA ordered - been a long road to get here but on order finally! Will be my first Tesla Hoping the UK brings in self driving soon so I can update to that!

Saturday portfolio update + 2.4% this week $AMD against holding up portfolio $TSLA starting to worry about a dropping Space X dragging it down $NOW up to the 3rd largest holding $COIN dropping down but expect to potentially start adding to this $SOFI a good week $HIMS a brilliant week!

@2147mill Swings are a lot more violent, small losses are a lot bigger. Learning to hold and stomach major down days is huge. When do you start to bring risk down - which then slows portfolio velocity It’s a lot to sit with

Buy to let in the UK in 2026. Is it dead? The costs: Stamp duty surcharge: 5% on top Mortgage interest: No longer fully tax deductible Section 24 tax changes: Pay tax on revenue not profit Maintenance: 1-2% of property value annually Void periods. Problem tenants. Agent fees. EPC upgrades coming. Potentially £10,000-£15,000 per property. The returns: Average UK rental yield: 5-6% gross Net after all costs: Often 2-3% The S&P 500 returns on average 8-10% annually. With zero tenants. Zero maintenance. Zero stress. Bought within an ISA and a UCITS variant, you take ALL that gain. Buy to let isn't dead. But it's no longer the no brainer it was in 2005. Thoughts?

In the early hours of this morning, I directed our Armed Forces to intercept a shadow fleet oil tanker attempting to pass through the English Channel. If you had to consolidate your ENTIRE portfolio into just 3 stocks which 3 would you choose?

It depends if you’re correctly considering your diversification across all accounts or just the investment account. Example - I have pensions in automated indexes so in my ISA I can go full conviction. If you have full conviction you would not have an Enron moment, and you could only be likely wiped out 30% of 30% in full positions after an earnings, it’s not going to zero. 5 - 8 full convictions with pension ticking away in the back ground is my general plan of attack.

Something I’m actively working on perfecting: Diversification vs conviction. Too diversified: → 40+ holdings → Every gain cancelled by something losing → You basically own the market anyway → Just buy an index fund and save yourself the admin Too concentrated: → 1-3 stocks → One bad earnings call wipes 30% of your portfolio → One Enron moment and it’s gone forever → Conviction without diversification is just gambling The sweet spot imo: → 60-70% core. Index funds. Boring. Unshakeable. → 20-30% high conviction thematic ETFs. Sectors you genuinely believe in. → 10% speculative. Single stocks. Highest risk. Highest potential. Enough diversification to survive being wrong. Enough conviction to make it matter when you’re right. Not too spread. Not too concentrated. Thoughts?
