Could Ireland have a new Premier League player tonight? 🇮🇪⬆️
On paper, you might think there were no Irish links in Coventry’s promotion tonight - but one name worth keeping an eye on is Liam Kitching.
The left-footed centre-half, who has been very solid for Coventry all season, is eligible for Ireland and has long expressed a desire to represent the Boys in Green.
Centre-back is arguably Ireland’s most competitive position right now, but Kitching would offer something valuable - a natural left-footed option, operating at the highest level.
Now Premier League-bound at 26, he’s entering the prime years of his career. The upcoming Ireland camp in Murcia next month could be the perfect opportunity for him to get involved in the setup and potentially even making a debut against Granada.
It would be a huge milestone personally, and a boost heading into his first Premier League season if he could arrive there as a full Ireland international.

Always enjoyed watching him for the U21s.
However I’m not completely convinced he’s our long term solution at LB.
Anselmo is more in the mould of a LCB I’m either a two or a three not unlike Scales or Kitching who’s eligible.
He’s even spoken about CB being his favoured role.
