Just 100 years after the first fleet, Australia had a higher GDP per capita than any other country, and 'Marvellous Melbourne' was the richest city in the world.
Australians gave the world the pacemaker, cochlear implant, black box flight recorder, penicillin, wi-fi, the ultrasound, refrigeration, and the electric drill.
A beautiful and innovative country.

@sama I noticed you didn’t exclude targeted ads based on conversation history. can users expect their conversation content and/or metadata to be used to optimally teach an AI to sell them stuff, essentially?

We are starting to test ads in ChatGPT free and Go (new $8/month option) tiers.
Here are our principles. Most importantly, we will not accept money to influence the answer ChatGPT gives you, and we keep your conversations private from advertisers.
It is clear to us that a lot of people want to use a lot of AI and don't want to pay, so we are are hopeful a business model like this can work.
(An example of ads I like are on Instagram, where I've found stuff I like that I otherwise never would have. We will try to make ads ever more useful to users.)

The boom and maturation of the podcast-sphere has been really great for those of us that are ~sorta keen~ to read a particular non-fiction book, but not enough to actually do it.
Much prefer hearing the author speak to primary thesis and some anecdotes than diving straight into the full book.
Dependency on strong interviewers (who have actually read the book — like Tyler Cowen, Ezra Klein) goes without saying.
