The name Fatima Maada Bio is synonymous with the protection of women and girls in Sierra Leone and around the globe. It was with deliberate intent that I dedicate November 30, 2024, in honor of my birthday to raise awareness about prostate cancer, a silent killer that has long affected our allies (Men). This year, I wanted to combine the celebration with advocacy. To my greatest surprise, after a call to action by me on TikTok and Facebook, a mammoth crowd showed up to support this cause. The overwhelming love and support from the public truly touched my heart. It is inspiring to see so many people come together for a common goal thank you Sierra Leone. At the concluding phase of our 1991 constitutional review process, the office of the Attorney General and Ministry of Justice convened a meeting today with all registered political parties to provide an update on the progress and outline the next steps required to advance the process. The Deputy Attorney General and Minister of Justice eloquently took us through what his office has done so far to get the process to parliament for debate and eventually to a referendum as required by law. He also responded to all the questions asked and promised to continue to engage all political parties on this process.
