It is with great sadness that we must report the death of one of our former players and 1980 FA trophy winners, Tommy Horan. Tommy passed away suddenly at home yesterday morning, aged 66. Tommy, who grew up in Barking and attended St. Peter's School, Dagenham, and then Bishop Ward, was an apprentice with West Ham under John Lyall. Tommy joined Dagenham FC in 1978 under Laurie Wilkinson and was a member of the Dagenham FA Trophy-winning side who beat Mossley 2-1 at Wembley. The club would like to send its sincere condolences to his daughter, Charlotte, and son, Sam, who are both regulars here at Victoria Road. Sam is a season ticket holder, and Charlotte attends when visiting London. And to his wider family and many friends. Tommy was one of football’s gentlemen who will be sadly missed by many. May he Rest in Peace.

How on earth this isn’t a penalty to Joe I will never know, but more importantly the reaction of the referee is a disgrace. Absolutely no concern or consideration about the players safety! Simply runs away.

During my ~3 years at this football club there have been some truly dark days That felt like the start of something really special Everybody, from us as staff, to you guys backing us, need to keep this energy If we do that, this club can truly achieve something remarkable ❤️

@tompearmantalks 100% agree it should all be about sensible structured development which will get you were you want to be and it'll be fun doing it despite the obvious temptation to go full on immediately

you would have to imagine that this carries something like Prime in as a drinks sponsor going forwards? the amount of exposure is going to be incredible but we have to harness it in the right way, not become a circus again. keep to our roots and core and take one step at a time

@Dag_RedFC Correct decision and a successful appeal shows how dire the original decision was as the FA rarely don't back the refs. Also worth saying that after a bit of a shaky start Sam Howes is in top form lately and looking pretty solid behind a good defence

Following that disappointing update... we can offer a positive one! 🙌 We can confirm that Sam Howes’ Red Card shown during our recent fixture against Horsham F.C. has been rescinded following a successful appeal. The club submitted a claim of wrongful dismissal after reviewing the incident, and the Football Association has upheld our appeal. As a result, Sam will face no suspension and is available for selection with immediate effect.

@Dag_RedFC Surely time to all pull together and give the new Owners a fair crack at it. Its going to be done differently I'm sure, maybe that will present new challenges but nothing a united Club cant take on
