The conversation isn’t really about population size alone. It’s about affordability and how you define total addressable market (TAM). Many founders building for Africa overlook a critical segment, Africans in the diaspora who are actively looking for ways to engage with and build within the African market. That demand is part of the market too. For context, our data shows that a significant number of people learning on @UnivadOnline from outside Africa are doing so specifically to apply those skills within the African market, across content, technology, film, and leadership. This Selar and Mainstack issue reminded me of the last Open Campus by @UCampTeam where one of the guest speakers started talking about a foreign learning platform while speaking to our ambassadors. It was chaotic, but was well handled.
