variants are easy to understand when you don't overcomplicate things for yourself and treat the different worlds in the honkaiverse as what they MOSTLY are: alternate realities 😭😭 maybe this is info vomit and definitely doesn't cover all of it but it's not that complicated...

Currently there is a scandal going viral about Shogakukan's Manga One Editorial hiring an author under a penname who allegedly sexually assaulted a high school girl and committed very degrading acts like smearing feces all over her. Timeline: The sexual assaults happened in 2016 when the author Shouichi Yamamoto was a teacher and she was a first year high school student In 2020 the author was first arrested and his own series 'Daten Sakusen' suspended by Shogakukan In 2022 however he was hired under the penname Ichiro Hajime to work as an author on "Joujin Kamen" together with artist Tsuruyoshi Eri On Feb 20, 2026 a civil lawsuit ruling by Sapporo District Court ordered the author to pay compensation to the victim who suffers from PTSD On Feb 27, 2026 Manga One Editorial issued an apology that hiring the author again was a mistake. The manga Joujin Kamen is now getting cancelled. The artist Tsuruyoshi Eri issued a statement she was completely unaware of the authors situation and past events.
