Dinner, questions, Everything can happen later. Dressed more comfortably in a soft shift, hair finally let down, Reine wastes no time in joining Thrawn. Settling with him, Truly resting, her mind finally slows, and her body melts into a rare ease. "I may never let you up."

How well he knows her. She offers no explanation for why - she's certain those stories will come tumbling out as they catch up. All she does is turn her head softly, pressing a soft kiss to the heel of his palm, before reluctantly moving from him toward the bedroom to change.

Finally, a small, r e a l smile. "How can I refuse?" It's easy to lean into his palm, and allow a touch that does not repulse or threaten her, that asks for nothing but her feeling safe enough to enjoy it. "Stars, I missed you..."

There are so few in the galaxy that can soothe the storm in her mind that she hides from all, under that perfected mask wears. That tempest that threatens to drown her, always. "Bin'vah vah," she sighs, eyes closing to find her center in that tenderness. "Ch'eo rin'vcam..."

"It doesn't matter," she says, pulling back, tearful, barely keeping it together like she's been forced to. "It doesn't matter anymore," she corrects, hands lifting to his face, gentle and trembling, thumbs stroking the lines that form his striking visage. "This matters." Us.

"Thrawn.." It's a whisper, a final breath that lets the Months apart vanish into nothing, murmured against his shoulder when she holds him fast, to remember him again.

Reine waited until the long-dormant alert quietly sounded. She prepared what she needed. She took the private transport to that secret place in the high-rises, and briskly walked to the door, key in hand. But nothing can calm the racing of her heart as the door opens.

// Trick question, the answer is this:

her secrets are locked behind a smile that could kill.
