It is with great sadness that we note the passing of Juanita Abernathy, a leader of the Civil Rights Movement and one of FSA's founding Board members.

Juanita, who among other heroic accomplishments was the strategist for the Montgomery bus boycott, was a warm and loving presence who could move mountains for social justice.

Mama monarchs are laying eggs and their larva will be the adults that migrate to Mexico between October and November. Students will learn to identify the monarchs as male/female, tag them for Monarch Watch citizen science project and release them into the garden.
