Immersion will always beat "realistic" mechanics in shooters. You forget you're playing the game when the mechanics are smooth and you feel in control, pretty simple.

Not everything needs to be realistic. Immersion should be the goal. This falls into my category of "realistic, but gets in the way of gameplay". ie - > let's not do this. Its one of those things that looks cool in a movie, but when you're playing, you need to feel in control of your character. The unnecessary bump in aiming in the new ads animation has nothing to do with the mouse movement, and will end up feeling unimmersive imo Smoother is better for feeling connected to the world
